450 pound black marlin eaten by shark

This 450 pound black marlin was caught off Cairns, Australia. After about 22 minutes it panicks and goes down deep, where the sharks live. Big mistake. At least we got to keep the Bill! As for the size, its the Captain who makes the call, not me. Barry Cross (skip) estimated it to be around 450lbs, so thats what i go with even though i might agree with some that its closer to 350 than 450. For a reference, at the end of the video when i'm holding the head, i'm 6'4". It might also be helpful to know that the boat is 65ft long and has a beam (width) of 17.5ft. Comments have been disabled after the Internet Trolls with no clue as to what game fishing is all about started dropping one liners. Educate yourself before you opinionize kids. Tarpon fishing under Long Key bridge near Duck Key, Fl. After a 20 minute fight with a tarpon, a 14 foot long hammer head shark attacks and eventually eats the tarpon. We tried our best to protect the tarpon by running it down and creating as much noise and bubbles to confuse the shark and hide the tarpon. After a quick release, the shark returns and I aggressively circle the tarpon as the shark slices at it boat side. After about 5 hits, the shark wins and swims off with the tarpon in its mouth. Moments later, half of the 65lb tarpon floats up and I grab the remains to add to the documentation. The shark returns on a high speed pass and bumps the boat with significant enough force to make Julie scream. I give up on the carcass and Corey gets his hands on it just as the hammer head shark strikes again, this time claiming the remains of his dinner. As this massive shark rolls into a dive, Corey gets a tail grab before it is all over. Conservative size estimations are 14 feet long at about 400lbs. This is the best shark attack footage I have ever seen. This was recorded in HD and is available for resale.

Outrage over girl 'surfing' whale shark

A photo of a girl standing on top of a whale shark has become the target of widespread criticism on social networks in the Philippines. Whale sharks are protected species in the Philippines, and are listed by the International Union on the Conservation of Nature as a vulnerable species. After the photo was posted on Facebook on March 31, Internet users began investigating the matter, and soon revealed that the photo was taken in the small coastal town of Boljoon, in southern Cebu island, where the girl lives. (Local media confirmed this.) Numerous other locals also posed with the whale shark, which was stranded near the beach, its tail tied with a rope. One fisherman explained that it had gotten caught in fish nets, so they had dragged the animal to shallow waters to untangle it, but not before snapping a few pictures.The people pictured in the photographs have said they did not know touching whale sharks was wrong.

40-feet long shark in karachi fish harbour 07-02-2012

A 40-feet long Shark washed ashore near Karachi fisheries harbor authority. People make way towards Karachi Fisheries Harbor Authority to gawk at the magnificently enormous dead shark that washed ashore, earlier today. Authorities have been struggling, trying to untangle the humongous creature by hoisting it out thorough a crane. This is not the first time Karachi beach has welcomed such a massive fish carcass. Last September, a 25-feet long dead whale washed ashore Karachi beach attracting a large number of spectators. The fish was found nearly 150km away from the beach and is rumored to be as costly as 100000 Rs or more.

World's biggest dead giant whale shark found near karachi pakistan sea 7th feb 2012

Hundreds of people gathered at a fish harbor in Pakistan's city Karachi on Tuesday to see a 40-feet long dead fish, a sight uncommon in the country during the past many years. The giant whale shark washed ashore on Tuesday but according to media reports it was spotted unconscious 10 days ago some 150 kilometers away from the fishery. A video of Geo News about the dead giant fish is available here. According to this video some fishermen had gone out fishing on Tuesday and had found the dead fish and brought it to Karachi Fish Harbor. The dead whale shark was lifted off the water with the help of more than two cranes, after earlier attempts had failed. In July 2010 a 17-foot whale shark was found on the shores of Hawksbay in Karachi, but Tuesday's fish was certainly more than double in size and weight. Later in the evening the Express Tribune newspaper reported that dead shark was sold at Rs 1.7 million (around $18888). The report also reads: "Two cranes were called in to fish the dead whale shark out of the water, which was approximately40 to 50-feet long and six-feet wide. Both cranes failed to pull out the fish and were sent back as at least three more cranes were required to carry out the task."
